HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Rescue workers saved a 46-year-old construction worker Thursday from a well in Beit Ummar, near Hebron, the civil defense unit said.
The man, who was not identified, was transferred to Red Crescent hospital for treatment. He also received first aid at the site where he fell into the pit while on the job.
Anwar al-Mahareeq, director of Hebron's civil defense office, reiterated the need for safety regulations and signs identifying hazardous areas particularly on construction sites.
Also Thursday, civil defense teams managed to evacuate a Palestinian house in Dura after Israeli forces fired a tear-gas canister into the structure, putting residents at risk of inhalation injuries.
