EL-ARISH, Egypt (Ma'an) -- Egyptian security services seized explosives in the northern Sinai peninsula on Saturday, as Egypt went to the polls over a new constitution.
Forces found two anti-tank mines in the al-Masaed neighborhood of el-Arish, and they were removed by explosives experts, security officials told Ma'an.
Security services in the Sinai were on high alert on Saturday, the first day of polls in a referendum on a new constitution for Egypt.
Jihadi groups in the Sinai declared the constitution in breach of Islamic law.
