Sources: Emir of Qatar to visit West Bank this week

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- The Emir of Qatar will visit the West Bank city of Ramallah for the first time this Friday, informed Palestinian sources told Ma'an.

They said Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will be transported by Jordanian military helicopter via Amman. The emir will first be welcomed in Jordan by King Abdullah before continuing his journey.

The Palestinian sources said the visit aims to balance his trip to Gaza in October. Sheikh Hamad was the first regional leader to visit the Gaza Strip in a trip seen as breaking the diplomatic isolation of Hamas, the rivals of the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority.

The emir pledged $400 million in aid to Gaza during the visit and urged Hamas and Fatah to reconcile.

President Mahmoud Abbas met with the Sheikh Hamas in Doha on Monday, discussing Palestine's admission to the UN as a non-member state, and efforts toward national reconciliation.

#3:I agree!This is my 3rd post,ignoredLOL!Perhaps Maan is a nervous about world opinion of OIL-Sheiks(who never cared about PalestineB4)coming looking to profit from Arab pain?Al Thani is the main investor in the oil pipleline running thru' N.Saudi,S.Syria(underneath the Syrian/Pal refugee camps that al-Qaida/Salafists are attacking now(funded by Qatar/Riyadh of course)& the pipeline traverses N.Israel,out to Turkey(thruPKK,armed by NATO)to EU,sabotaging Eurasian trade with EU?It's blood money!

So somebody tell Palestinian President Abbas and Prime Minister Fayyad to ask him immediately to give the Palestinian Authority ITS MONEY (as promised) on Fri. ... N-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-W !!! Better idea: Somebody tell the sheikh to hand over a check for $400 million as soon as he gets his butt OFF the damn helicopter. What in the hell is he WAITING for ??? ... Palestinian "UNITY ???????? !!!!!!!!!!!" ...
