436 couples wed in mass ceremony in Gaza

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Some 436 couples wed in a mass ceremony on Thursday in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
Leaders of Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, the Palestinian People's Party and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine attended the wedding, which was paid for by UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's foundation.
Ahmed Yousef, former legal adviser to Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, thanked the UAE for supporting Palestinians and wished the newly-weds a happy married life.
Fatah MP Ashraf Juma said another wedding for 1,000 couples would be announced soon.
