JENIN (Ma'an) -- A very elderly man died on Friday in Kafr Dan village near Jenin at the age of 117, relatives said.
The family of Abdul-Latif Amir Aabid say he was born in 1895 and took part in revolutions against the British Mandate in Palestine.
"He felt pain in his chest, and before a doctor arrived to check on him he emitted his last breath," a relative told Ma'an, adding that he was in good health up until his death.
Aabid never visited a traditional doctor and preferred to use herbs. "He was the village’s herbal doctor all his life," the relative said.
Aabid had five sons and three daughters, the eldest of whom is now 75. He had 50 grandchildren; the eldest is 51.
