RAMALLAH (Ma’an) – Palestinian foreign minister Riyad al-Maliki on Monday received credentials of the new head of the Representative Office of Switzerland to the Palestinian Authority Michel Guthrie.

Al-Maliki hosted Guthrie in the foreign ministry’s office in Ramallah and the two talked about the latest developments in the region and the future cooperation between Palestine and Switzerland in different fields.

Al-Maliki also thanked Switzerland for voting in favor of recognition of Palestine as a non-member state in the UN General Assembly.

Am greatly pleased that Switzerland has recognized Palestine! Like Jimmy Carter says, Israel is holding the Palestine people in a apartheid status. These people in an "Occupied Land" since 1967 are treated so badly that I joined a humanitarian flotilla to bring food and medical supplies, but of course we were turned back by Israeli gunships. Are these Zionists sadists? Peace talks have been tried for years, while Israel builds homes and walls in Palestine territory. The UN must disarm all.
