HEBRON (Ma'an) -- An Israeli bus hit a Palestinian teenager in Beit Ummar on Monday evening, leading to clashes in the town north of Hebron, the local popular committee said.
Committee spokesman Mohammad Awad told Ma'an that 15-year-old Mohammad Zahaqiq was taken to Hebron governmental hospital for treatment.
Locals threw stones at the bus, Awad said, and Israeli soldiers fired tear gas at them.
The Israeli army said the clashes were sparked by Palestinians throwing rocks that damaged an Israeli vehicle and injured a civilian.
The army representative said 50 people rioted in the street and forces responded using riot-dispersal means including tear gas.
Awad, the local activist, said three settlers were hurt.
