A police spokesman says the attack is under investigation.
TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- Two Israelis attacked and injured a 15-year-old Palestinian boy in east Jerusalem late Monday, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

Micky Rosenfeld told Ma'an that the attackers, believed to be two ultra-Orthodox Jewish residents, assaulted the boy from behind causing moderate head injuries.

Rosenfeld said the boy was being treated at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

Israel's Ynet news site quoted the boy's mother as saying the attack was unprovoked.

"My son said he and his friends were hanging out near the train station when two religious-looking guys showed up. One of them grabbed him and knocked him down and hit him repeatedly over the head," the boy's mother was quoted as saying.

"People keep talking about peace, but what is this 'peace'? What do they want? What did my son do to them?"

The incident was the latest in a series of attacks on youths in east Jerusalem, which Israel occupied in 1967 and later annexed in a move never recognized abroad.

The self-absorbed, can't-be-reached, lights-on-but-nobody's-home ultra-Orthdox give everyone the creeps. Their claims to "spiritually" or piety don't impress because their BELIEFS are so meaningless and unpleasant. Just a maze of arbitrary laws, all with the same creepy cultish feel, bearing NO relation to morality. (Nomism is the term I believe.) So who knows what these two were thinking? Did the presence of the Arab teenager offend some weird religious tenet? Was attacking him "observant" in

(contd.) some demented way? Were they ticking the boxes of Maimonides bizarre 613 mitzvot (eg. 278: To break the neck of the donkey if the owner does not intend to redeem it... or 598: To seek out the descendants of Amalek and kill them...yikes!) Or are they just nasty thugs saying Happy Hanukkah? It's hard to know because the closed-off Haredim, with no desire for contact or to make themselves understood to ANYONE outside their weird ghetto, aren't telling. (Yikes!)

'Under investigation' for what? Surely it's not a crime for members of the master race to attack untermenschen in Eretz Israel?

Lawless Israeli citizens seem to be testing their legal system on how far they can go. They have the army as an example of "anything goes". Will it be the same for anyone out of uniform, as long as the victim is Palestinian or the wrong color ?

Don't expect any Israeli investigation to give justice for any non-Jews.The Zionist IOF,Shabak &Pharisees all protect the savage Jewish-only,ARMED colonists. They ATTEND each others meetings;whether military, civilian,or religious,to formulate their combined OFFENSIVE strategies. Don't ever expect PEACE from any of them coz they care NOTHING for real Judaism. Ever word, deed,is shrouded in Goebellesque hasbara-code for GENOCIDE,or more COLONIAL CONTROL of ALL Arab civilians,REGIONALLY!

To Mel #5 'Don't ever expect PEACE from any of them' Israel could never survive peace. An ever-present, always-oppressed 'enemy' is essential if she is to preserve any sense of national identity. She can only survive by endlessly grinding the Zionist boot into the Palestinian face.

To Carol #4 'Will it be the same for anyone out of uniform, as long as the victim is Palestinian or the wrong color ?' If you followed minor news stories more closely, you'd realize this question has already been answered. There are American Jews who go to Israel and commit 'murder tourism' -- and get away with it. In Israel, the odds of being arrested for attacking a Palestinian and the severity of the punishment are roughly the same as the consequences for smoking marijuana in America.

Carol, Carol, Carol - you've got it wrong! The IDF is the "most moral army in the world" as we have been continually told.
