JENIN (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces stopped a car for hours at a checkpoint near Yabad village south of Jenin late Tuesday, citing a suspicious object discovered inside the vehicle.
The owner of the car, Ahmad Marii, told Ma’an that when he was coming back from Bartaa village, the Israeli forces stopped him at the checkpoint and forced him to exit the car.
"All of a sudden, the Israeli forces blocked the checkpoint and called for military reinforcements and an Israeli ambulance. They detained me in a room, and called an expert of explosive devices.
"They also seized my car, and prevented anyone from approaching the checkpoint."
Soldiers searched the car with dogs and after four hours allowed the driver to leave.
An army spokeswoman confirmed that a car was searched and eventually allowed past the checkpoint.
