BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces demolished a house in East Jerusalem on Tuesday on the pretext that it was being built without a permit, a local official said.

Fakhri Abu Diab, head of the Committee for the Defense of Silwan, told official news agency Wafa that Israeli bulldozers arrived early Tuesday and destroyed the home, which was under construction at the time.

The house, located in the Silwan neighborhood south of Jerusalem's Old City, was uninhabited at the time.

"The ruthless occupation is trying at any price to achieve its goal of displacing the indigenous people from their city and giving their land to settlers," Abu Diab said.

A 2011 report by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel found said that Israeli authorities have revoked the status of 14,084 Palestinian Jerusalemites since 1967, no longer permitting them to live in the city.

Israel captured East Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War and later annexed it in a move never recognized by the rest of the world.

Of course the people who should be MOST ASHAMED of these Zionist policies of ethnic"cleansing"of Arab-Semites from the Holy Land, are ALL THE GLOBAL PEOPLE'S who found the Nazi holocaust abhorrent TOO! Anyone loyal to tolerance, democracy, equality &mutual respect for all humans, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity(as stated in Israel's OWN Declaration of Independance,1948)should recognize that just as Israeli-ZIONISM destroys the pluralistic Holy Land,so too is the ISRAELI dream destroyed!

Since 1967 , there had been only 7 contsruction permits issued to Palestinians in Silwan. One of which is for an Israel Collaborator. It does not take a genius to find out that Israel does not want the expansion of Palestinian communities anywhere. This facade of permit regime is to provide a coverup for the crime of ethnic cleansing. Land confiscation , zoning laws , imminent domain laws are used to benefit the Jewish community only.

You're entitled to your own opinions, but you're not entitled to your own facts. The facts are that this area is designated green and park for the benefit of the millions of tourists that visit Israel from around the world. Individuals are flagrantly violating the law and simply being selfish in grabbing land that doesn't belong to them. It's that simple. Be truthful - or be damned.

# 3 - have a look at the generically named "abandoned lands acts" the new state enacted to steal Palestinian land. This, inter alia, was one excuse they used. But stealing is stealing, whatever pro-Zionists want to call it.
