In photos: Floods, snow hit Palestine

Heavy flooding in the northern West Bank and southern Gaza Strip has damaged hundreds of homes, officials said, while snowstorms blew through the southern West Bank on Wednesday.

At least 17 people have died in the winter storm in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Israel and Palestine. Meteorological agencies in Israel and Lebanon both called it the worst storm in 20 years.

For me, snow in Palestine is always a reminder of the scenes in the documentary Checkpoint, of IOF soldiers keeping workers, simply out of cruelty, waiting for a long time in the freezing snow at a checkpoint.
