RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israel's prison authority transferred 37 prisoners affiliated to Fatah to different Israeli jails overnight Thursday, the PA ministry of prisoners affairs said.
The ministry said the prisoners were not informed in advance of the move from Ofer detention center to Israel's Nafha and Rimon jails.
The prisoners complained that they were not given a chance to put forward representatives discuss the transfer.
After the move, prisoner representatives met with Israeli intelligence officials and called for the detainees to be returned, the ministry said.
They are also calling for improved conditions, saying the 140 Palestinians jailed in Ofer are way above capacity and many have to sleep on the ground.
