BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A 31-year-old Palestinian woman who was arrested with her baby by Israeli forces in south Hebron on Saturday is set to face a charge of assaulting officers, her lawyer said Monday.
Rima Ismail Awad, from al-Deirat, was released on bail on Sunday morning but is under suspicion of aggression towards soldiers and police, lawyer Neri Ramati said.
On Saturday, activists and locals gathered to cultivate their land in the south Hebron hills, which lies close to a settler outpost. At least 14 people were
arrested by Israeli forces, who said they were enforcing a closed military zone imposed after a protest the day earlier.
An activist at the scene captured footage of the detention of Rima and her 18-month-old child.
The baby was released Saturday evening.
