BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli police arrested a Palestinian man in the al-Aqsa compound in Jerusalem on Tuesday, the official news agency Wafa reported.

A guard at the Al-Aqsa Mosque said that Israeli police officers were escorting a group of over 100 Jewish extremists on a tour of the mosque grounds, Wafa reported.

A man shouted 'Allah Akbar', or 'God is Great', at the group as they began to perform religious rituals, and was arrested by police, according to the report.

Where are those police when haradim spit on Christian clergy walking in Jerusalem?

"...Israeli police officers were escorting a group of over 100 Jewish extremists on a tour of the mosque grounds." Are these tours approved by the Waqf? With armed security? I doubt it. Muslims know Jews don't share and these tours are a blatant provocation because the message is explicit: "This is ours, not yours." Though occupied, the Waqf makes the rules on the Haram. They're on signs. Religious symbols (like Christians wearing crosses) must be covered up. No immodest clothes.

(contd.) No weapons. No alcohol. No hanky panky. No gaudy praying by non-Muslims. Non-muslims to leave at prayer time etc. Always seemed entirely reasonable to me (it's THEIR sanctuary) and should be observed. Jews should keep away if not prepared to be especially well behaved! The next bit is hilarious: "A man shouted 'Allah Akbar', or 'God is Great' [on the Haram al-Sharif] [!] and was arrested by police." It's like Ripley's Believe It or Not!
