HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Masked gunmen ambushed a car transferring Palestinian company funds in the southern West Bank city of Hebron on Sunday morning, security officials said.

The vehicle, belonging to Palestinian trading group Unipal, was headed to the bank to deposit money when it was ambushed in the Ras al-Jura neighborhood.

The gunmen chased the Unipal car before opening fire, shattering the windshields and bursting tires. No injuries were reported.

They forced the driver to hand over one million shekels ($270, 000) and fled the scene, the security officials said.

Palestinian forces have identified the vehicle and are tracking the suspects, they said.
