AMMAN (Ma’an) -- President Mahmud Abbas on Sunday praised the positive atmosphere of the Jordanian parliamentary elections, according to the Jordanian al-Dustor newspaper.

Pro-government tribal candidates strengthened their grip on Jordan's parliament after Wednesday's general election, boycotted as rigged by the Muslim Brotherhood-led opposition.

"We as Palestinians are happy for our Jordanian brothers. Jordan is the twin of Palestine, and the strength of Jordan is the strength of Palestine as well. Jordanian-Palestinian relations are complementary rather than competitive," Abbas said, in comments carried by the newspaper.

"We respect the sovereignty of the Jordanian state, resolutions and all procedures," the president said.

Isn't the Palestinian origine everywhere in the region the most discriminated? They are treated like the black sheep everywhere. And that was long long time ago already... Look at the history even more ages before! It surprises me everytime how much gentleness and mildness is shown by the people of Palestine, in spite of everything they had to endure for so longtime! And I exclude the extremistic ones!
