BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) – A delegation representing the Arab League will soon head to the United States to move forward the Middle East peace process, a Palestinian envoy said Tuesday.

Muhammad Sbeih, secretary-general for Palestinian affairs in the Arab League, told Jordan’s al-Ghad newspaper that the delegation would submit a proposal to Washington with new ideas for a solution for the Arab-Israeli conflict.

“The proposal includes specific Arab ideas about Israel’s withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territory, the establishment of a Palestinian state, guaranteed security for both sides,” he said.

Negotiations, according to the new proposal, should be limited to six months.

Sbeih highlighted that the proposal, already submitted to Arab governments, addresses the role of the international Quartet and the possibility to make certain changes to that role and give the Quartet specific tasks with a clear deadline.

Sbeih added that the absence of terms of reference and a clear timeline serve Israeli interests as that helps Israel gain more time and impose more facts on the ground as settlement expansion continues.

Complete and utter waste of time. If the Arab League is that committed to this absolutely useless effort, everyone should just save their butts from all the wasted preparation and travel time and set up a video conference and fax any and all prepared documents to whomever in the hell wants them. Don't send anything to us ... we aren't gluttons for repetitive crapping.

to #3 why are you un der the impression that Israel is " giving" any land? This land is occupied by force. So if you claim "land by force" then we will have perpetual confrontation. What ideas that promote peace do you suggest. Obvioulsy what you are suggesting is utterly criminal and unacceptable and does not promote peace at all....

Good! It was a FAIR plan B4! But,this time the A/L had better SLAP a licensed copyright on it,as its OWN!
The last plan presented by the A/L was fair&dignified for Palestine,& more than fair to Israel,under UN Resols/international LAWS(which are NOT anti-Semitic),but was tweaked,redacted,censored,hijacked by D.C.,presented as a USG plan&REJECTED by Zionists!USG is not an UNBIASED,neutral broker,&mediator of mutual,equable peace! It HASN'T been,since POTUS Eisenhower(along with UKG,Europe)!!!

Well...Israel already accepted the 1947 UN Partition Declaration borders, and those remain the only legal ones. If ALL the Arab states accept those as well, I'd say we have a deal.

To all those putting the blame (again) solely on the Palestinians......who exactly didn't accept the Arab Peace Initiative ? Oh, it was Israel. Who reprimanded Obama in front of World cameras about the "indefensible" 67 borders with land swaps ? I think it was Bibi (Ups, again Israel). So, who is not wanting peace here ?

It is almost certain that the "Arab League NEW peace
PROPOSAL" WILL BE THE SAME AS THE OLD proposal
(1967 Borders, Divide Jerusalem, and with Refugee Return), &
- WITHOUT COMPROMISE, SO THERE WILL BE NO PROGRESS.
