BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Senior officials from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation convened in Cairo on Saturday to prepare the agenda for next week's 12th Islamic Summit, official news agency Wafa reported.

Israeli settlement activities in Palestine will form part of the summit's agenda, Wafa said.

"We hope in this session to listen to suggestions from kings and presidents of member states about this thorny topic [settlement activities]. Other topics will be addressed on the second day of the summit," Egyptian foreign ministry official Amr Ramadan said.

Palestinian envoy to the UN, Riyad Mansour, told the meeting that the Palestinians have been a top priority for the OIC, especially after the UN's acceptance of Palestine as a non-member state in November.

The Islamic Summit, which will be held on Feb. 6-7 in Cairo, is titled "The Islamic world: new challenges and growing opportunities".

Like Food must come before Art, Security must come before Peace. The 1949/1967 Armistice/Border lines do NOT provide Security for Israel, and Real Statehood for Palestine will NOT come without Security for Israel !!!

The Islamic Organization can do Nothing about settlements, but - IF the Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit wants to "donate to a financial safety net for Palestine", - THEN all that is required is to donate, rather than to meet in Cairo and recommend that members donate, - AND Israel will happily forget about Palestine's government collapsing, while using Palestinian taxes to pay Palestinian electric & water debts !!!

The most important topic for this Islamic Summit to address is the Palestinian Holocaust in Syria and solving this permanently, forever, once and for all and for good. Getting all Palestinians--refugees or not--the hell out of Syria (along with the general Palestinian diaspora in similar straits) and re-settled into Jordan/Palestine is of paramount importance. Focusing on our continued settlements west of the Jordan River (or anywhere in and around Jerusalem) is utterly useless.
