EL-ARISH, Egypt (Ma'an) -- Egyptian forces on Wednesday seized a stash of anti-aircraft shells in central Sinai for the second day in a row, a security source said.

The Egyptian security official told Ma'an that police were notified smugglers were stockpiling explosives in Sinai.

He said a large security force raided Sadr al-Hitan, in the city of Nakhil, early Wednesday morning and seized 65 anti-aircraft shells, a rocket-propelled grenade and an artillery shell.

On Tuesday, Egyptian forces seized 99 rounds of anti-aircraft shells and explosives buried underground in a desert area near Houseinat, around 30 km from the Israeli border, security officials said.
