GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Gaza's Ministry of Work has formed a committee to provide 5,000 jobs for new graduates, an official said Sunday.

General director of the ministry, Maher Abu Rayya, said in a statement that the new work program will last for 11 months, and graduates with a BA degree will get paid 1,000 Shekels ($270) per month, while those with a Diploma will receive at least 900 Shekels ($243).

The program, open to 5,000 students, will be supported by several social foundations and is based on the principles of transparency and honesty, Abu Rayya added.
