RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- The PA Ministry of Justice is considering setting up a committee to discuss the Palestinian constitution, the justice minister said Sunday.
Ali Muhanna made the remarks during a panel discussion with Palestinian youth groups, saying that a new committee to discuss constitutional amendments is being considered, without giving further details.
At present, Palestinian Basic Law functions as a temporary constitution until the establishment of an independent state. The Basic Law was created ratified by late president Yasser Arafat in 2002, having been passing by the Palestinian Legislative Council in 1997.
It has been amended twice.
