BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Fatah executive committee member Azzam al-Ahmad met Thursday with Spain's envoy in Ramallah and said the situation in Palestine would become crucial in the coming months.
Al-Ahmad and Alfonso Vázquez discussed the situation in the region and Palestinian national reconciliation during the meeting, a statement from al-Ahmad's office said.
The meeting covered the financial crisis and Israel's "piracy" of Palestinian tax revenues.
Al-Ahmad called on Spain, Europe and the international community to intervene and pressure Israel to resume transfers of Palestinian taxes, which it has withheld since last year over a vote at the UN.
