CAIRO (Ma'an) -- Over 400 pilgrims from the Gaza Strip left for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday via the Rafah crossing, border officials said.

Crossing official Sami al-Mutawalli said 460 pilgrims departed for Mecca to perform the Islamic pilgrimage of Umrah.

Over 1,000 Palestinian pilgrims will fly back on Wednesday via El-Arish airport, he added.

May the Blessings of Allah be upon them. May they travel in safety & peace, and may Allah accept their Umrah (pilgrimage). For each one that makes the journey, may Allah multiply his or her reward infinitely and for those (past & present) who cannot travel to Mecca & Madina, may Allah grant them an equal reward. Allah sees your suffering Gaza, and you will be rewarded for the patience you have shown & and the hardship you have endured. One day both Gaza & all Palestine will be free in shah Allah
