RAMALLAH (Ma’an) – Israel is impeding delivery of the Palestinian electoral registers from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank at the Erez crossing, officials in Ramallah said Wednesday.

According to the sources, Israel has not given the Palestinian side approval to transfer the electoral rolls which the Palestinian Central Elections Commission has updated over the past 10 days in the Gaza Strip.

The rolls are supposed to be delivered to the main offices in the West Bank. The Palestinian side has been contacting the Israelis for 10 days on the issue, but the Israelis are still “haggling,” one official said.

The Gaza Strip rolls are packed into 60-70 boxes and the Israeli side has been provided with all the details about them beforehand, the sources said.

The Palestinian Central Elections Commission on Wednesday completed updating the electoral rolls in the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank. The updating process took 10 days.

What did you expect, from the "only" ethno-theocractic,white-supremacist,colonial,Transferist,aparthied,expulsionist "democracy in the middle east"Israel, which thrives on the "longest military occupation in modern history",& brutality, paid for by 3-5-10 BILLION expropriated US tax dollars per annum?Expecting Israel to respect Arab electoral democracy &freedom,is like expecting USG,Riyadh&or the Taliban,to practice"Equal Justice Under Law"too. MYTH! VOTE WITH YOUR LOUD VOICE! TAHRIR!

With the exception of humanitarian aid, "Israel should block" everything
("not just electoral rolls") from crossing Israel's sovereignty
into West Bank's Areas A & B, UNTIL NEGOTIATIONS ARE PROCEEDING,
and not only "from Gaza", but from the entire world, so as to create a situation where Palestinians must restart negotiations, without preconditions.

If you have ever seen a map of the Oslo Accords agreementm
regarding the West Bank Territory (Areas A & B), that were put
under Israel's sovereignty (at least for an interim period), than
you should know the the Palestinian Territory, known as
- AREAS A & B DO NO HAVE A BORDER WITH JORDAN,
- so in Reality, it is impossible for Areas A & B to "Bypass Israel".

The occupier maintains its own registry. Israel doesn't want the State of Palestine to have one too. That would undermine their authority in the occupied territories, including Gaza. But 138 UN nations disagree with Israel: that's a number bound to rise. So who will be 139?

Israel can not afford to allow the State of Palestine to establish its own citizenship records: an occupier loses its authority if it does. But take heart as 138 UN nations do recognize the State of Palestine, and more are certain to follow. Who will be next?

# 3 - you have been listening to Israeli BS again. "pre-conditions"? what are the pre-conditions the Palestinians ask for? That Israel abide by international law. What are Israel's pre-conditions? No Palestinian state, no access to the Jordan river, no Jerusalem discussion, no refugee discussion at - read the bloody Hamas charter before you prattle on and on about negotiations and pre-conditions.

#3 You can't even identify the areas of "Israel's sovereignty" and I doubt the Israelis themselves could either. What with all the land grabbing in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Syrian Golan. Israel can't produce a map because it doesn't even know where it exists. So do yourself a favor and shut up.

#9 - correction - "read the bloody Likud charter" . . My mistake! And as Rami says, try and get a map of Israel and see any reference to the green line. Try any bookshop for, eg. a tourist book on Israel as edited by Israelis. Try asking Netanyahu where Israels borders are.
