GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The Ahmed Abu Rish Brigades on Thursday threatened to fire rockets at Israel if any jailed hunger striker is harmed.

"We will continue to work with rockets and we will not stand by idly. Military operations will be implemented to achieve the rights of prisoners and to free them," brigades member Abu Ali al-Qawkabi said in a statement.

Al-Qawkabi called on Palestinian leaders in Ramallah to reject any negotiations with Israel and urged the Gaza government to refuse a truce until the detainees' demands are met.

The Fatah-affiliated Al-Aqsa Brigades joined a solidarity tent in Gaza City on Thursday in support of Samer Issawi who has been on hunger strike for 204 days, and Tareq Qaadan and Jaafar Azzidine who have refused food for 86 days.

The brigades called for action to free prisoners and joined a march from Victory Street to the protest tent, raising flags and banners of the hunger strikers.

Islamic Jihad has said a truce with Israel could unravel if any hunger striker dies.

Separately the Hussam center for prisoners rights called for "non-stop" campaigns on behalf of Issawi.

Fire rockets and israel will respond full force. If a hunger striker dies it iscause he refuses to eat. perhaps israel should force feed them?
besides issawi, is a murderer. oh wait i am sorry, freedom fighter

Nice to know that any excuse means Palestinians will attack Israeli civilians. Does anybody care that these people have said in advance that they intend to commit war crimes?

For Both the Rocket-launching Squads, and
For Palestinians dreaming of a real state,
Nothing Will Change Without Negotiations !!

#3: What negotiations? If the other side will never stop settlement building and the other one will never give up the right of return, what is there to negotiate? Both Israelis and Palestinians (and now I'm talking about the governments, not the people of Palestine or Israel) are too stubborn and not willing to compromise. So? Peace? Not so likely.

Yes, Realistically I agree with your conclusions: - "one side will never 100% stop settlement building", but construction is already limited & could be agreed upon, and - "one side will never give up the right of return," but 3rd, 4th, etc. generation refugees could accept cash instead of return, (where 1st & 2nd generation are old and will be buried soon), and - SOMETIME BEFORE "NEVER", the "stubborn" may learn "compromise, So Peace" could be possible, if THE TALKING COULD START.

Responding to Mr. Matt "besides issawi, is a murderer. oh wait i am sorry, freedom fighter" I'm sorry, do you have proof of this? where are your records? a police statement naming Mr. Issawi as a murder suspect? A victim's family saying that Mr. Issawi killed their loved ones? A witness? Trial testimony? a prosecutor affirming this? An investigation done by Israel or the P.A.? It's actually very saddening at how incredibly and willfully moronic you are.

To Mr. Cohen, when speaking of committing war crimes in advance, perhaps you did not ever read or digest the word's of Israel's founding Prime Minister, when he said, "We do not wish, we do not need to expel the Arabs and take their place. All our aspirations are built upon the assumption..." A leader boasting of ethnic cleansing... but I do not hear your moral outrage over this.

Mr ISSAWI, whether "murderer or freedom fighter", IS A KILLER, and his intended Jewish victims have the right to defend themselves by putting him in jail.

One Dead Prisoner and No Rockets proves two things: 1- Hamas can learn to care about Gaza civilians, and 2- Israel's DETERRENT STRIKES CAN HALT ROCKETS.

@8. You still haven't answered my question. please give me proof. otherwise your accusation is just that. An accusation. I can just as easily say "well I have blue smurfs attacking my lawn at night" and it is just as equally stupid and unfounded as your accusations. Learn the basic tenants of law and democratic governance before speaking.
