GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The father of a seriously ill toddler on Wednesday appealed to President Mahmoud Abbas to pay for his daughter's treatment in Jordan.

Ramzi Abu Sharaweb told Ma'an his 3-year-old daughter Rimas could not eat solid food, walk or speak.

Israel has banned him from accompanying his daughter for treatment in Israel, so he has taken her to Jordan for several surgeries, he said.

He cannot afford to return to Jordan for his daughter to complete her treatment, and appealed to Abbas and humanitarian organizations for help, adding that Rimas was in serious pain.

Patients from Gaza and the West Bank need Israeli permission to access specialist Palestinian hospitals located in East Jerusalem.
