GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- Large crowds of Palestinians gathered Thursday to condemn condemn Israeli violations against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, after a detainee died under interrogation.

A protest organized by the prisoners’ committee began from the unknown soldier square in Gaza, from which protesters carried Palestinian flags in solidarity with Arafat Jaradat.

Jaradat died days earlier in an Israeli prison. Israeli authorities have described the causes of his death as unclear, but a Palestinian pathologist said the victim's body showed clear signs of torture.
