Netanyahu: Military threat needed to stop Iran's nuclear program
Published Monday 04/03/2013 19:10
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Neither diplomacy nor sanctions have stopped Iran from pressing ahead with its nuclear ambitions and a clear and credible military threat is needed to stop Tehran's program, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday.

"Words alone will not stop Iran. Sanctions alone will not stop Iran. Sanctions must be coupled with a clear and credible military threat," he told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in a speech to its annual policy conference.

Netanyahu, speaking to the Washington gathering by video from Israel, repeated his assertion that Iran was using international negotiations "to buy time to press ahead with its nuclear program."

How about just deciding to TALK ... cheaper and a lot less threatening for everyone ... but it requires a new way of looking at this stalemate. What has Netanyahu got to lose?

The only one needing sanctions seems to be the Israel Government.

Poor old Netanyahu, he just can't coax U.S. into starting another Zionist schemed invasion of another country - that would sure help him to form a functioning government!

We know everyone is distressed with us for this continuous militaristic position (some would call it "hype") towards Iran but (as I've said a while back) it's my view we're not going to attack Iran unless a convergence of factors happens: 1) Clear evidence (backed up by eye witness/intelligence reports, for example) that Iran's uranium-enrichment is going to military use in direct conflict with its stated policies that it is not, 2) The discovery of yet more secret nuclear/uranium- (cont.)

enrichment facilities that Iran has and its refusal or problems with allowing inspections of them, 3) The discovery of Iranian importation of nuclear bomb parts or the assembly of such parts, 4) The discovery of Iranian plans to build nuclear bomb test facilities and/or conduct nuclear bomb testing or the discovery that it is already doing so (such as at its Parchin site, which is currently problematic for inspectors to gain access to). We aren't paranoid about Iran but let there be no (cont.)

the diplomacy exhibited by USA and israel has been irrational, undiplomatic and an attempt to humiliate Iran. The diplomacy was meant to fail. The basic hypocrisy in USA and israel positions make it hard for Iran or any unbiased observor do anything else but laugh. Luckily the USA has realized the USA population will revolt if US attacks Iran. I do not want USA to attack Iran. I have no power. There is one advantage if US attacks, all support of israel in US will end with the attack.

israel, a paranoid schyzophrenic, does not really believe Iran is going to do anything against israel. Israels threats at Iran have to do with obscuring the criminal, murderous behavior it it committing against the Palestinians.

#6 & 7 - Yehuda, where do you stand on Israel's nuclear program? Do you think UN inspectors should come to Israel and inspect Israel's nuclear program to ensure that it is purely designed for non militaristic use? Should they also look into Israel's capabilities to produce nuclear warheads if they don't have them already and if they do, should they, too, be inspected? How about Israel's uranium enrichment capabilities? Should it sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty? Please answer.....

Iran is going to get bombed. The USA does not let a country that calls the US the Great Satan get a bomb. Iran is a paper tiger. They will do nothing. Just like when they said they would destroy any US ships in the Gulf and ... Nothing. But either they give up the nukes or the US is going to make them. Ayatollah is going to learn the hard way.
