US aims to support Israeli defense systems despite budget cuts

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- New US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel met with his Israeli counterpart on Tuesday, expressing strong support for Israeli missile and rocket defense systems despite fiscal uncertainty caused by across-the-board spending cuts.

"Secretary Hagel is committed to working with members of Congress to ensure that there is no interruption of funding for Iron Dome, Arrow, and David's Sling rocket and missile defense systems," a US defense official said.

Hagel's nearly two-hour-long talks with Israel's Ehud Barak represented his first face-to-face meeting with a foreign counterpart since he took over the Pentagon on Feb. 27.

#3 Absolutely nothing. But they do have very much to do with the Zionist claws embedded in Washington D.C. and the continued financial recession experienced by a majority of Americans who can barely make ends meet.

Simply this: those systems reduce the chance of war in the Middle East which is good for the United States. The United States also has access to the technology. The US itself (or Russia or China or the EU) has never managed itself to build an effective anti-missile missile system. Israel did. That is pretty impressive for a country of 7 million people. It is actually amazing. But now the US has access to all of the systems. The investment is a good one.
