Israeli forces shoot, critically injure man in north Gaza

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot and injured a man in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday, medics said.

Omar Wady, 22, was shot east of Jabalia refugee camp and taken to hospital for treatment, medics told Ma'an.

Wady was shot in the chest and is said to be in a critical condition.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said "several Palestinians gathered near the security fence and damaged the fence. During attempts to distant rioters, one Palestinian was shot."

Last Friday, Israeli forces stationed in a military tower on the north eastern border with Gaza shot and injured three men, medics said.

Since the November ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Israeli forces have shot and killed three people in the Gaza Strip and injured at least 50, amid numerous incursions into border areas of the coastal territory.

"Since the November ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Israeli forces have shot and killed three people in the Gaza Strip and injured at least 50..." There's something wrong with that sentence. What is it? This is gonna drive me crazy.

Still trying to restart the rockets. The only persons close to the fence are those pictured resting weapons as they shoot.

If they dont want to be shot or killed they must learn to live in peace or leave.

The Palestinians don't shoot the Israelis for approaching the fence. Is this fence on Israeli property?

# 3 - John, you are talking about the Israelis of course aren't you?

"several Palestinians gathered near the security fence and damaged the fence. During attempts to distant rioters, one Palestinian was shot." In other words, he was shot for rattling the bars of his cage.

To John #3 'If they dont want to be shot or killed they must learn to live in peace or leave.' Assuming that by 'they,' you mean the Zionists, I couldn't agree more. Actually, I think they should just leave regardless. They can live in peace some place else.

To Mark of Lewiston #3 '...The only persons close to the fence...' As so often, your remark demonstrates how the lies of the Zionists seep into even the language of even those who would dispute their claims. That's not a fence. It's a wall. If it was in your yard, what would you call it?

#3 I agree John. They should leave, if they can't live in peace. Back to Tel Aviv (or Russia) and let Palestinians in Gaza try to have a halfway normal life. I mean, there's no threat from Gaza. They're not about to mount a ground invasion. They're not rapacious, ideologically driven territorial expansionists. They're not Napoleon or Hitler or Israel. I think they'd be quite happy, for the time being, with the novelty of standing in the 500 metre "no-go-zone" without being shot.

If the Palestinians are required to remain 300 meters from the border fence, will the Israelis commit to the same arbitrary regulation?

Palestinian children should be encouraged to draw art to hang on the fence. Nothing quite says home like the childrens' art projects.

That fence is there for a reason, if gazans truly wanted peace they would have had it a long time ago. Gaza is run by a government that refuses to recognize israel and is opposed to anything but armed struggle, and that government was elected by the Palestinians you have only yourselves to blame.

Step Back From The Fence, Israeli. Step Back 300 Meters.
