Settlers attack 67-year-old farmer in Beit Ummar

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- A group of 30 settlers attacked a 67-year-old farmer in north Hebron on Saturday, a local committee said.

Mohammad Abed al-Hamid Jabir Slaibi, 67, and his sons were working on their land adjacent to Bat Ayin settlement when a group of young settlers started swearing at them and throwing rocks, a popular committee in Beit Ummar told Ma'an.

Slaibi and his sons left the area to escape the attack.

Israeli soldiers were present at the time of the incident but did not intervene, the committee added.

Settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank is routine and rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

No arrests. Why not? Was the settlers and soldiers motive intimidation? How does that differ from teenager attacks on Palestinian women in Nazareth or Tel Aviv or Jerusalem? Shouldn't these settlers and soldiers at least be instructed by the military courts to return home and tell others why such behaviour is despicably antisocial?

@ 1), No, not intimidation but much more than that: It was their sick minds telling them to make the Palestinians tremble with physical fear. In addition, they were even sicker for doing this on our Sabbath day. As I've said before regarding other criminal Israelite terrorist attacks on Palestinians, I have and will continue to send strong messages to our Knesset and IDF condemning the IDF for its negligence. the Yesha Council (Israelite settlers' W. Bank political group) and will constantly do the best I can to promote some type of better joint security cooperation with the Palestinian security forces even if I'm told to basically shut the hell up (I won't). Whether it's Palestinian olive tree destruction, harassment or other Israelite terrorist acts ... what's criminal and wrong is criminal and wrong. @ 3), ... because our W. Bank IDF administrators are too (criminally) complacent and negligent.

In one case, three teenagers were to participate in anti-racism programs in schools, with police officers saying "we preferred the educational element to standard punitive action". In another case, the suspects found guilty of the attack banned two from entering Jerusalem for 45 days and the third for 30 days. How is Kamal al-Nasan? Will Israel apologize, aid him and his family while recuperating, and replace his sheep? Yehuda, will you? And who will restore life to those murdered?
