BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- An Israeli court filed an indictment on Sunday for two suspects who sexually abused a 16-year-old relative in Nazareth, Israeli police said.
"Police arrested two suspects, a 51-year-old man and a 17-year-old, for sexual offenses against a 16-year-old girl," Israeli police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told Ma'an.
The girl was the victim of an acid attack carried out by one of the men in February, and had been sexually abused by both suspects leading up to the attack.
Haifa's prosecutor's office indicted the two men for sexual abuse, and said that the 51-year-old man poured acid on the girl's face after finding out she wanted to marry another man.
The girl's mother told Ynet that her daughter was not raped and was dazed while being examined.
She has undergone several operations to treat severe injuries to her face and eyesight, and has been hospitalized since the attack.
