Prisoners offer to waive Israeli citizenship to be released
Published Sunday 10/03/2013 (updated) 11/03/2013 17:32
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- A group of Palestinian prisoners say they are ready to give up their Israeli citizenship to be released.

The prisoners wrote to the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Prisoner Affairs in Ramallah, asking to be included in negotiations for the release of Palestinian detainees.

"We believe that any political settlement that does not include us as Palestinian prisoners is like sentencing us to death," the detainees wrote.

"After all the years we spent in Israeli jails, we have the right to go back to our homes and continue our lives with our families. However, we are honored to carry the Palestinian ID, and to move to the borders of the state of Palestine," the letter continued.

According to the prisoner rights group Addameer, 185 of the 4,812 Palestinian political prisoners are from inside Israel.

They should have considered this move BEFORE doing that for which they were arrested.

These prisoners need to be reminded that they are doing time for robbbing, injuring or killing other human beings, and not for being "Palestinians".

Palestinians love their homeland. They did not choose the imposed state of Israel. They belong to the land . The state however does not belong to them.

Excuse me #1&2, who assigned u to decide y they were arrested? U should look into Israel and their policies when it comes to prisoners. 85% of what they do is illegal & undercover. Most of the Palestinian prisoners are sent to jail without trial to begin with. And LOL? who's the robber here? READ, think for urself and for once put aside ur biased media sources & brainwashing tools. Welcome to reality.

4. Sorry Hannah, the fact is they were arrested. If they found Israel intolerable, if they found themselves unwilling or unable to live in Israel, they should have left.
