TEL AVIV (Ma'an) -- Israeli police have arrested a man on suspicion of stabbing his sister, who died in hospital on Monday, Israeli media reported.
Alaa Shami, 21, was stabbed in the thigh and fell from the second floor of her family home in Ibillin village in northern Israel on Sunday. She died in Haifa's Rambam Medical Center on Monday, the Israeli news site Ynet reported.
Police arrested her 22-year-old brother on suspicion of stabbing her. The woman's parents initially refused to cooperate with police but the victim's father later said his son had killed her, Ynet reported.
Police superintendent Moshe Weizman said a family dispute began with an argument between the victim and the suspect's wife.
"When the suspect got home, he got involved in the argument and eventually pulled out a knife and stabbed his sister," Weizman told Ynet.
