NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Tuesday temporarily closed several checkpoints around the city of Nablus to carry out a military training exercise, Palestinian security sources told Ma'an.

Israeli soldiers closed Beit Furik and Beit Dagan checkpoints, and erected temporary checkpoints in Huwwara and al-Bathan, security sources said.

Israeli troops stopped several cars and checked ID's.

An Israeli spokeswoman said no crossings in Nablus were closed.
