GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Swarms of locusts on Tuesday reached farmland east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, farmers told Ma'an.

Farmers appealed to the Agriculture Ministry to protect their crops from the flying bugs.

A plague of locusts spread from Egypt to the West Bank, Israel and Gaza in March.
