RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Local elections will be held in 36 municipalities in the West Bank on June 1, the Central Elections Commission said Thursday.
Most municipalities voted in new councils in October and November.
However in some municipalities, voting was postponed due to court decisions, or because no electoral lists qualified for nomination in the 2012 rounds. In other municipalities which will vote in June, the majority of council members have resigned.
The Central Elections Commission said in a statement that it would publish a timeline for the elections by Saturday.
