CAIRO (Ma'an) -- Egyptian authorities on Thursday delayed the deportation of seven Palestinians found with maps of Egyptian military sites, a security source said.

Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi has asked to be updated on the investigation into the men, a security official told Ma'an.

The official said the Palestinians had entered Egypt through tunnels from Gaza, and that they had visited Syria and received training in Iran.

They were detained at Cairo International Airport on Wednesday carrying maps of military buildings in Cairo, airport sources said.

Egyptian investigators are studying the maps, the security official said.

The suspects have not been identified.
