BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- An Israeli settler was injured by gunfire on Monday near Qalqiliya in the northern West Bank, the Israeli army said.

The Israeli was hit near the entrance to Qedumim settlement, an army spokesman said, adding that soldiers were searching the area for suspects.

A military source told Ma'an that it appeared the fire came from a passing vehicle.

The Israeli news site Ynet reported that the victim was a 71-year-old man and that he was shot in the legs.

Locals reported a heavy deployment of troops in the area. They said forces closed several main roads and erected flying checkpoints.

Ah. Well, if he was shot in the legs, that would be a warning shot, wouldn't it?

"forces closed several main roads and erected flying checkpoints." Like they do whenever a Palestinian is injured. Don't they?
