BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Hundreds of people gathered outside a police station near Ramallah on Monday after a man was stabbed to death earlier in the day, locals said.

Muhammad al-Shafey, 20, was stabbed in the neck during a quarrel with a co-worker in Beituniya. His parents and relatives surrounded the police station and called for police to release a suspect in custody so they could punish him.

Witnesses said that al-Shafey was stabbed in the neck by a co-worker following a disagreement.

Muhammad is originally from the town of Lod in central Israel.
