GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Gaza-based premier Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas said Thursday he did not expect US President Barack Obama's visit to change the situation for Palestinians.

"We believe American policies perpetuate the Israeli occupation and settlements in Palestine under the slogan of peace," Haniyeh said in a statement.

He added: "The PA must realize that they have to abide by national principles and reconciliation."

Referring to Obama's remarks a day earlier during a news conference with Israel's prime minister about Iran's threats, Haniyeh said Iran was not an enemy to Arabs despite certain differences.

I await the day when Palestinian leaders show real initiative by skipping all the rhetoric and meeting Israeli leaders at the negotiating table. THAT is where the Palestinian situation will change.

Of course it doesn't change anything - because Hamas wants war and not peace. Therefore, Haniyeh condemns the Palestinians to a stateless future. Either Hamas must go, or it's time for the 3 state solution: Israel, Palestine and Gaza.

"Haniyeh is" Right, that "nothing will change" wthout a negotiated agreement, and until change comes: - Israel can easily wait in it's secure and prosperous position, while - Palestine has yet to become even a real state, and meanwhile it is in imminent danger of financial colapse !!

The visitation of Obama must be very clear to Fatah leaders that, is totally wasting of time and resources. Obama, in his address, he hyproctically defends the settlement and wall structures without order Israel to demolish the structures.
