BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A woman was stabbed to death by her husband north of Jerusalem on Saturday, Palestinian police said.

Ruwayda Fakhri al-Kurdi, 30, was stabbed in the neck by her husband, who handed himself in at a local police station in al-Ram. The unidentified man, who brought their three children to the station, also handed police the murder weapon, a statement said.

Detectives and a district attorney immediately headed to the apartment and found the lifeless body of Ruwayda on the floor.

The body was taken to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah for an autopsy.

The children will remain in police custody until arrangements can be made to transfer them to a safe shelter, police added.
