BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) – The Israeli government is exerting efforts to convince Egyptian authorities to send Cairo's ambassador back to Tel Aviv, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported Saturday.

Egypt recalled Atif Salim in November 2012 in protest of Israeli military attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The IBA, an official Israeli state broadcaster, quoted “high-ranking” sources as saying that Egypt’s efforts to relocate the Israeli embassy in Cairo were making progress.

Separately, according to the agency, Israeli sources highlighted that a joint Egyptian-Israeli military committee and the Qualifying Industrial Zones committee had been meeting regularly.
