TULKAREM (Ma'an) -- A teenager identified as Naji al-Balbisi, 18, died after being shot by Israeli forces during clashes near Tulkarem late Wednesday, a Ma’an reporter said.

The reporter said that the Israeli forces detained the body al-Balbisi for several hours, and then at 4 a.m. they handed the body to a Red Crescent ambulance.

The teenager was the second to die after Israeli soldiers shot and killed a youth late Wednesday near a checkpoint in the Tulkarem area of the occupied West Bank, security officials said.

Soldiers in the area opened fire at Amer Nassar, 17, killing him instantly in what Israel described as a response to a Palestinian firebombing targeting a military post.

An Israeli army official said Palestinians had attacked the post with firebombs.

"IDF soldiers responded by firing towards the attackers and identified a hit," an army spokeswoman told Ma'an. "The circumstances are currently being reviewed."

Nearly 1,000 people turned out on the streets of Tulkarem in the aftermath. Mourners carried the youth's body as the crowd chanted slogans condemning the attack, a Ma'an correspondent observed.

The incident came as clashes broke out in the West Bank -- particularly Hebron -- between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians protesting over the death of a prisoner serving a life sentence in an Israeli jail.

Maisara Abu Hamdiyeh was diagnosed with throat cancer and died after serving 10 years of his sentence, for which he was convicted on charges of attempted murder.

The Palestinian Authority has accused Israel of medical negligence, despite moves by the prison service to secure his early release on compassionate grounds.

'The reporter said that the Israeli forces detained the body al-Balbisi for several hours, and then at 4 a.m. they handed the body to a Red Crescent ambulance.' I imagine he needed to finish bleeding to death first.

The two teenagers threw firebombs at Israeli soldiers. Maan, as usual, failed to provide that essential information. Maan is every bit as partisan in its establishment and production of Pallywood as the ridiculous Talkbackers on its site.
