BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israel's army has uncovered two tunnels under the separation wall, used by Palestinians to enter Israel from the West Bank, Israeli media reported Friday.

The tunnels were found under the wall near al-Tayba village in the northern West Bank, the Hebrew-language daily Maariv reported.

Soldiers found two Palestinians trying to enter Israel through the tunnels, according to Maariv.

In the Gaza Strip, a tunnel network runs under the border with Egypt to smuggle goods into the blockaded enclave.

Israel's army and intelligence officers are concerned about the discovery of tunnels in the West Bank, Maariv reported, and fear they could not only by workers but also by militants to launch operations in Israel.

An Israeli military spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Take note. Intifada=war. If the Palestinians go that route, they will lose. The only route is to return to peace talks without preconditions.

Why is Israel so clueless as to refer to a "separation wall?" The term is unfair, misleading, and derogatory to Israel. It is not a wall and is not for "separation." It is an "anti-terrorism barrier" or "anti-terrorism fence."

I did wonder why there were no tunnels in the West Bank, or why the Wall isn't sabotaged more often!

The wall is incomplete and has many holes in residential areas . Workers and religious travelers go for the many hour crossings and try not to risk their privelages out of desperation . Some zip in and out and sometimes get ambushed by the IOF ( occuping forces) as they know the existance of most holes . A determined militant can go through easy , but the general mode is to give diplomatic and peacfull resistance a temporary chance.

Have hyou noticed in the news today coverage of the wall in Northern Ireland? It goes right through people's backyards and the report is that everytime there is any episode, the fence is made higher. They are Irish on both sides, but two different religions and still hostile after all these years. What shall we expect from our Arab neighbors who are not only a different people but a very different religion?
