HEBRON (Ma’an) -- An Amnesty International delegation on Saturday visited Hebron in the southern West Bank to document the conditions of Palestinian families.

The delegation of over 30 researchers visited the Old City's Seam Zones near the Israeli settlements of Kharsina and Kiryaat Arbaa. They also documented testimony from Palestinian residents about Israeli polices that affect them.

Salih Hijazi, who heads Amnesty's Middle East and North Africa campaigns, told Ma’an that the visiting delegation included researchers from Europe and other parts of the world. They came to learn about the residents’ suffering and problems caused by Israeli forces and settlers.

“We already know that Palestinian citizens in Hebron face daily violations by Israeli settlers and soldiers,” said Deborah Hyams, one of the visiting researchers.

Palestinian activist Badee Dweik, from Hebron’s Youth Against Settlement organization, said the visit was very important because the visitors represented a major international organization.

Palestinians living in Hebron's Old City are faced with numerous restrictions on their freedom of movement within the area. Access and movement restrictions exist for Palestinians on all roads that run between, toward or adjacent to settlements.

The Old City's market is devoid of trade due to military orders forcing traders to close.

Settler violence is prevalent and is aimed at forcing Palestinians out of the Old City, the UN has said.

Radi Salah contributed to this report.

#2. In your rush to take offence at the AI investigation you forgot to read the first sentence.... TO DOCUMENT THE CONDITIONS OF PALESTINIAN FAMILIES. Not to prove or disprove violations.
