Clashes break as Israeli forces raid Jenin

JENIN (Ma’an) – Clashes broke out Thursday morning between young Palestinian men and Israeli troops who stormed several homes in Jenin in the northern West Bank before they detained two young men.
Locals told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided both the city and the refugee camp in Jenin and detained two young men.
Ahmad Shabrawi was shortly questioned in his house in Jenin before he was taken to an unknown destination. In Jenin refugee camp, Fadi Sabbagh was also questioned and then detained, according to locals residents.
They highlighted that young Palestinian men clashed with the Israeli soldiers at the entrance to Jenin camp, in Haifa Street, Jabriyat neighborhood and near the public hospital in the camp. Several young men were hurt by tear gas.
The Israeli army said the arrests in Jenin were among nine overnight in the West Bank.
A military spokeswoman said the others included one near Ramallah, five in Hebron and another from a village near the city.
She also said soldiers found a rifle and ammunition in a car traveling near Ramallah. She said the weaponry was confiscated and the three Palestinians were taken for questioning.
