SALFIT (Ma'an) -- Court security guards on Wednesday detained the brother of a man on trial for killing his relatives, the district attorney said.
The suspect is on trial for killing his brother's 27-year-old pregnant wife, Lina Fatooni, and her children Majd, 4, and Jana, 5.
Guards detained the suspect's brother, who is the widower of Fatooni, as he tried to sneak into the courtroom past heavy security, district attorney Thaer Khalil said.
The brother was detained to prevent him attacking the suspect, Khalil told Ma'an.
Relatives of the suspect, who is from Farkha village, gathered outside the courtroom demanding security services hand over the suspect so they can kill him.
The hearing was postponed for 15 days.
Fatooni and her children were found dead in their home in Salfit in July.
Rescue workers initially believed the deaths were caused by a gas leak at the family's home in Salfit, but a police investigation found the victims did not die of gas poisoning and that they were murdered.
