DAMASCUS (Ma'an) -- The secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command said Monday that the group will attack the interests of all those who launch military action against Syria.
Ahmad Jibril said that attacking Syria would open up a whole new front in the fight with the US and Israel against their interests in the Middle East.
"The Palestinian people stand by Syria, which is locked in a battle of defense for Palestine and the Arab nation," he said , adding that the Palestinian faction loyal to Assad would "resist US aggression on Syria in the spirit of martyrdom."
Earlier Monday, the Palestinian National Council said that it rejected foreign military action in all Arab countries.
"We are with a peaceful solution for the Syrian crisis. We do not want the Syrian people to witness more destruction and more suffering, more than what is happening now."
President Mahmoud Abbas said Sunday that he is against military action in Syria and called for a political solution to the conflict.
