NABLUS (Ma'an) -- A journalist from Nablus on Tuesday intervened to stop the kidnapping of a 5-year-old girl in Nablus.
Hasan Titi told Ma'an that he heard screams near his home at 7.10 a.m. and looked out of his window to see four young men surrounding a woman and her young child.
"I went out immediately and found that the attackers had kidnapped the girl and sped away in two vehicles after they sprayed gas at the woman," Titi said.
The journalist called the police then chased the attackers in his car, driving on the wrong side of the road in an attempt to block their route.
"I finally reached a Palestinian checkpoint and asked the officers to stop the two vehicles. They alerted all patrols who managed to stop the vehicles after firing warning shots into the air."
The attackers were taken to a police station for interrogation.
Initial investigations suggest the attackers are from Jerusalem but are related to the woman they attacked.
